When my boss (hi, Hannah Baxter) Slacked me asking if I’d heard of “Diet Coke nails,” I legitimately laughed. Not great, I know; some people say Diet Coke is basically Gen Z’s “lunchtime cigarette.”Naturally, the Internet has turned the caffeinated obsession into a manicure. Instead, the trend got me thinking in a different direction: If Diet Coke were translated into something lighter and a little more wearable, I’d be more likely to style it. Maybe Diet Coke nails weren't originally meant to be subtle, but they’re surprisingly good inspiration.
