Did you lose a soccer ball in Lake Ontario? A Niagara woman hopes this washed-up ball will find its owner across the lake

A Niagara woman who discovered a soccer ball washed-up on a Lake Ontario beach early Easter morning is determined to return it to its owner — a young girl from the other side of the lake in Etobicoke, according to a faint name written on the ball in marker. The soccer ball that Carol Penner found washed up on a beach at Vineland Station, just west of St. Catharines, Easter morning. “Emily Seagrove, of Etobicoke Youth Soccer, your soccer ball washed up on the beach at Vineland Station across Lake Ontario,” read her post. Whether or not a young girl lost her ball near Vineland Station or Etobicoke, one thing’s for sure: this soccer ball has travelled a long way from home. “The average currents rotate counterclockwise around the west end of Lake Ontario,” Coulson said.
