In North Africa, brutal striking laws, political conflicts and the short-term announcement crumbled the workers' lines on the global strike day. While some states in the Southwest and North African region transformed into ghost cities, participation in the strike in North Africa took a different path. Last week, Teachers' Unions agreed with the government and ended the strike. Throughout the six-week-long strike, teachers faced repercussions, including monthly salary reductions of up to 20%. From 1962 until 2011, all six of the North African Kingdom's constitutions stipulated strikes as a guaranteed right.
