Simon UteborThe Bayelsa State Government has resolved the crisis that engulfed Amassoma community in the Southern Ijaw Local Government Area of the state. About five persons were killed and many persons injured in the violent clash which occurred last Tuesday at the gate of the state-owned Niger Delta University, Amassoma. Governor Seriake Dickson, who held meetings with various stakeholders, including the leadership of the community and the Governing Council of the NDU, expressed regret over the incident. He assured the people that the government would pay the bills of the injured and the burial expenses of the victims. He stated that efforts were on to ensure the reopening of NDU to resume academic activities as soon as possible.
