Roy Rochlin/Getty ImagesTopline: Billionaire businessman Edward “Ed” Stack, CEO and chairman of Dick’s Sporting Goods since 1984, is reportedly considering a run for president as a third-party candidate, a move that could further shake up the looming 2020 election. Stack assembled a focus group this week to explore the possibility of running for president, Politico first reported. Not all the feedback from the focus group was positive for Stack, a source told Politico. Tangent: Stack isn’t the first CEO billionaire to consider a presidential run—Starbucks CEO Howard Shultz had also explored the option but couldn’t generate enough excitement for his bid and announced in September that he would not run.
