Dicing with death... for a selfie: Tourists pose for photographs on edge of crumbling cliff


Larking around on the edge of a 500ft crumbling cliff, these tourists happily dice with death in the search for the perfect selfie. At one stage they even appeared to be daring each other to go closer to the precipice at Birling Gap in East Sussex. The cliff suffers the country’s worst coastal erosion but that did not stop the grinning visitors testing their luck. Signs at Birling Gap warn that dangling on the edge is ‘incredibly dangerous’ as there are giant cracks in the chalk that could give way at any moment. He grinned broadly and held him loosely around his legs and chest before he was again captured on film crouching to peer over the chalk edge with another child held by only one arm around the waist.
