ROME - Italian Foreign Minister Luigi Di Maio was in Tripoli on Thursday together with his German counterpart Heiko Maas and his French counterpart Jean-Yves Le Drian, and said their presence there "testifies to the unity of intent of the European countries most committed to the stabilisation of Libya". "Today we want to say that Europe will continue to remain alongside the Libyan people and to support them in their journey towards peace," Di Maio said. "But we are also here to express full support to the Libyan authorities and the institutional transition and reunification process in progress. We appreciate the effort of the Libyan authorities in the fight against human traffickers and in patrolling maritime borders. In this sense, I confirm Italy's commitment, including within the framework of European action, to support Libya in managing migrant flows and in humanitarian assistance in favour of migrants and refugees," Di Maio said.
