Bangladesh has proposed its Foreign Secretary M Shahidul Haque as a candidate for the position. According to a media release issued on Wednesday, the request to support the country’s candidate was made during an Eid Reunion hosted by the Bangladesh Permanent Mission in New York on Tuesday. Foreign Secretary Haque attended the event. He urged the representatives of member states to support Haque. The PRs of Bangladesh and Spain were appointed as co-facilitators for the modalities resolution of International Migration Review Forum in December 2018.
