Dhaka city has recorded 103mm rainfall in the last 24 hours, seven times more than expected. “We experienced unexpected amount of rainfall in the last 24 hours but such torrential rain can occur during the monsoon,” Bangladesh Meteorological Department official Mizanur Rahman Dhaka Tribune on Wednesday. In a report, the Met office said the second highest rainfall–83mm– was recorded in Bogra, much more than the expected amount of 12.7mm.
