A father has died in Dhaka after suffering burn injuries in a fire believed to have been caused by an explosion from accumulated gas in the kitchen of a Mirpur residence. Six percent of his body is burnt, according to Dr Shaon. All those who are hospitalised are in critical condition but conditions of these two have worsened, said Dr Shaon. The critically injured victims in the incident were taken to the National Burn and Plastic Surgery Institute. The explosion may have occurred from accumulated gas when someone attempted to light the stove in the morning, Dr Shaon said, citing the victims’ family members.
