Several neighbourhoods in Dhanmondi and Mirpur had no gas when the Titas Gas Transmission ad Distribution Company started repairing the leaks. Gas pressure was low and the problem would be resolved within the night, the authorities said. A leakage in the line caused the fire, Md Yakub Khan, a deputy general manager at Titas, confirmed. Many in Dhanmondi and Mirpur said gas pressure in stoves started to drop in the evening and stopped later. “Gas pressure is low in some areas now while some others are experiencing a total disruption,” Yakub said.
