The accident has been reported around 2am on Monday from the capital's Malibagh level-crossing at the construction site of the Malibagh-Mouchak Flyover, said police. Railway police's Sub Inspector Md Rashed Rana said the girder was being lifted by a crane and it fell on the workers when the cables snapped. The fire service rescued the three and rushed them to the Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) where one of them was declared dead. DMCH police camp's Sub Inspector Md Bachchu Mia said," The man killed was around 42 years of age. Meanwhile the accident snapped Dhaka's rail links as the girder fell on the tracks.
