Dhaka will “certainly” need to educate its people about how to use the Delhi metro rail, regarded the world’s fastest growing network. Japan has helped New Delhi to build the metro rail which has entered the third phase of expansion to 350 kilometres from the current 213 kilometres of network. Bangladesh has also started the construction for the first metro rail service in Dhaka this year with JICA’s support, aiming to open half of the 20km line by the end of 2019. About 2.7 million commuters use the Delhi metro service on weekdays. Delhi first opened the metro service in December 2002 within four years of beginning the construction process in 1998.
