The Executive Committee of the National Economic Council (ECNEC) has approved a project worth Tk 28.40 billion to overhaul Dhaka University’s ailing infrastructure. Under the project, six academic buildings will be constructed, alongside nine residential halls -- four for 2,600 male and five for 5,100 female students. Moreover, the university authorities have announced plans to build two residential buildings for teachers, two more for officials, and five administrative facilities. According to Jahangir, the project also includes four components aimed at enhancing water bodies and beautification, repairing existing service lines, and upgrading one playground. “Once implemented, the project will increase that by another 18 percent.”“Even then, we will still have shortages.
