A full committee of Satkhira Journalist Club, Dhaka was formed on November 23 at the organization’s first annual general meeting at Dhaka Reporters Unity (DRU). Boishakhi TV’s Planning Editor Sheikh Nazrul Islam was elected as the president while Arthoniti Protidin’s Senior Reporter Kamruzzaman Kajol as the general secretary, said a press release. ATN Bangla’s special correspondent Syed Riaz has been elected the vice-president while daily Observer’s Mamunur Rashid as the joint secretary; Ittefaq’s Saidur Rahman as organizing secretary, Pratidiner Sangbad’s Gazi Shahnewaz as finance secretary, Dainik Bartaman’s Rahman Aziz as office secretary; Dhaka Tribune’s Aminur Rahman Rasel as publicity, publication and information research secretary, RTV’s Suraiya Munni as women’s affairs secretary; and Manabkantha’s Ataur Rahman as welfare secretary. Seven executive committee members are Radio Today’s Abul Bashar Selim, Kalbela’s Abu Bakar, Amader Orthoniti’s Shahnuzzaman Titu, Bangladesher Khobor’s Nasiruddin, Ajker Khobor’s Sheikh Mahmud A Riyat, NTV’s Masud Raihan Polash and Jago News’ Jesmin Papri. The first meeting of the new committee was held at DRU on Saturday.
