Nicola Sturgeon's favourite adviser failed to mention her role in the Scottish Government's failed Covid response as she lambasted Westminster over its poor pandemic planning. Devi Sridhar shared messages regularly with the former First Minister and offered her advice to deal with the disease. The SNP Executive was blasted in the UK Covid Inquiry's first report for failing to properly prepare for the deadly virus, and for following the UK Government's lead too much. In Lady Hallett's damning assessment of the Scottish Government's Covid preparation, she found that it "did not act with sufficient urgency" and when it finally did so, it responded ineffectually. She was a firm advocate of a lockdown, and trying to make Scotland "Covid Free" even though this was virtually impossible.
