Lion earned 6 Academy Award Nominations as the complete list of all those competing for the most coveted award in cinema were announced a few days back. The film based in India - Lion - directed by Garth Davis earned a total of six nominations including the Best Film. But the most iconic nomination is that of Dev Patel, earning the Academy nod by being nominated for his act in the category of Best Supporting Actor. The film has earned 5 other nominations including the Best Film, Best Actor in A Supporting Role (Female), Best Adapted Screenplay, Best Cinematography and Best Original Score. Patel is starring in the movie alongside Nicole Kidman, Rooney Mara, Sunny Pawar, Priyanka Bose, Deepti Naval and Tanishtha Chatterjee.
