17-year-old Wong Chun-kit was placed on detention center order today. A 17-year-old student who sat for his Diploma of Secondary Education exams this year was placed on detention center order yesterday for carrying naphtha, kerosene and several lighters in Central during a citywide protest in November last year. The defendant, Wong Chun-kit, earlier pleaded guilty to one count of possession of offensive weapons in public place. The defense counsel said the defendant’s physical condition shows that the latter is suitable for being remanded in a detention or a rehabilitation center. Magistrate Chainrai accepted the defense’s argument since the the defendant's report also suggested so.
