An ongoing investigation has revealed that a man who pretended to be an EACC officer has tricked people both in Kenya and abroad. A report by the commission's officers says Wesley Kiptanui was once based at Integrity Centre in Nairobi. The officers says Kiptanui was arrested shortly after the discussions, when it was discovered that he was not an EACC officer. Mombasa EACC boss George Ojowi told The Star on phone that they were gathering more information in their probe. “We are waiting for a report from the Cyber Crime Unit," he said.
