L.A. County split on governorWho did your neighborhood choose? Gavin Newsom won the most votes Tuesday in California’s open gubernatorial primary, including here in L.A. County. Former Los Angeles Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa performed well among Latino communities in central L.A. and on the Eastside but was overrun by Newsom in wealthier — and whiter — areas from Malibu to Pasadena. Newsom will face Republican John Cox in November.
