EPs seem to be a favorite format of the band’s, and they have plenty of experience with releasing them in their long history. Many of the short albums that Coldplay has dropped throughout their career have been focused on a particular single or play to an angle (remixes, live recordings, etc. ), but once or twice the group has simply opted to keep things short and sweet with an EP of all new music. If that’s the case this time around, it means that despite what the world was led to believe, Coldplay is not done creating new tunes. These budget treatments are often used when promoting a last single towards the very end of a promotional cycle.
