But the striker controversially chose to join other players and celebrate with fans who remain locked out. Supporters had gathered at Pride Park before kick-off despite the ongoing strict Covid-19 restrictions still being in force. Waghorn and other players including Patrick Roberts and Graeme Shinnie are clearly pictured toasting the survival with fans outside the ground. A line of stewards have formed but there are swathes of fans in attendance celebrating the survival.
