Addis Ababa, April 7, 2026 (FMC) — Ethiopia’s Deputy Prime Minister, Temesgen Truneh, has emphasized that the Ethiopian Police must provide services that earn the trust of the people and meet their highest expectations. Deputy PM Temesgen stressed that the strength of the institution depends on the values guiding its members. Looking ahead, he called on the police to remain vigilant in safeguarding national progress and the integrity of the upcoming May elections. It must safeguard the integrity of the upcoming national election in May, ensuring that it is conducted in a manner that is both peaceful and democratic. Deputy PM Temesgen concluded with a call to deepen knowledge, strengthen loyalty, and renew commitment to public service.
