Instead, as shown above in Figure 1, the fastest growing firms embody dynamic mindsets that lead to value creation, empowerment, collaborative networks and process-enabled outcomes, and faster growth. Human factors are not totally ignored in this “management system.” But in implementation, they are silenced or assigned a subordinate place. Given those qualities, practitioners of 20th century management were—and still are—supremely confident in the correctness of their thinking.
