Departing Canadian diplomats send farewell gift to Vietnam in a song

Hanoi-based Canadian diplomats, including outgoing Ambassador David Devine, have a unique gift to Vietnam: a performance of a well known traditional "quan ho" folk song. The beautiful melodies from the folk song "Nguoi oi Nguoi o dung ve" (Please stay my darling, don't leave) are performed by diplomats from the Canadian Embassy of Canada in Vietnam and singer Tung Duong. Various Vietnamese customs are introduced – from calligraphy to Vietnamese monochord, paper fans, traditional Vietnamese dress, folk paintings to traditional toys for children, which will surely bring the audience back to an incredible Vietnam. Devine said he would leave Vietnam "with a greater understanding of this incredible country, and a greater appreciation of the importance of diversity, both at home and abroad. No matter where we go, a part of Vietnam will always remain with us," the ambassador said.
