DepEd also wanted an “expanded role” on the mandatory ROTC Program through its joint supervision and administration with the DND and AFP. Priority concernsWhile it supports the mandatory ROTC, DepEd emphasizes the inclusion of “priority concerns” in all of its undertakings. In the ROTC curriculum and implementation, DepEd wants to ensure that “patriotism, nationalism, and core values” and Filipino “citizenship, civic duty, and discipline” would be highlighted.
