Maribojoc noted that the DepEd has a policy directing all public and private schools to create their respective CPCs. “We have a policy that every school should have a CPC, including private schools, [but] how functional and operational these committees are, this is something that we need to work on,” she said. The CPC, Maribojoc added, is composed not only of DepEd personnel but also of parents, school officials, and representatives from the local government or barangay. “We’re training our guidance counselors or teachers, school heads on how to handle cyberbullying.”Maribojoc said that DepEd has also integrated digital literacy in the curriculum, particularly social media ethics, principles and practices.
