MANILA, Philippines — The Department of Education moved Christmas break this year from December 22 to December 15. The memo said the resumption of classes would be on Jan. 2, 2019. According to the memo signed by Education Secretary Leonor Briones, DepEd "values the importance of spending quality time with the family. The Christmas season provides an opportunity for Filipino learners to strengthen their emotional bonds with their family."
