THE Department of Education (DepEd) on Monday said it would comply with President Rodrigo Duterte’s directive to postpone face-to-face classes until a vaccine for coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19) is made available. “We will comply with the President’s directive to postpone face-to-face classes until a vaccine is available,” she added. In a taped public address earlier, Duterte doubted the readiness of DepEd and the Philippines to implement blended learning — especially online learning. She stressed that the Education department was ready to implement the Basic Education-Learning Continuity Plan from the Central Office down to the school level. The Education department has set the opening of classes for August 24 and the enrollment period from June 1 to 30.
