Dentsu did not immediately respond to a request for comment, but has been in touch with at least one analyst that covers its business. After an internal investigation by Toyota, the ad and media company faces questions about digital media transactions going back at least five years, according to the Financial Times. Dentsu dominates the ad and media business in Japan, but the holding company derived more than half of its business from markets outside of Japan in fiscal 2015.
