Reports suggested the government had paid up to US$1 million for the data, though that number could not be confirmed. It’s unclear whether Denmark is the first country to have bought or accessed the leaked data beyond what was made public. Lauritzen said the data cost a single-digit million kroner, where one million kroner is equivalent to US$150,000.
