Denise Irvine: In celebration of our remarkable doersSUPPLIED Esther Stephens as suffragette Kate Sheppard in the hit musical That Bloody Woman, which played recently at Hamilton's Clarence Street Theatre. OPINION: I went to see That Bloody Woman last week, the foot-stompingly wonderful rock musical about the life and times of legendary suffragette Kate Sheppard. Kate Sheppard was a remarkable doer and this column is in praise of such people. The night after That Bloody Woman, I saw the documentary movie My Year With Helen. To borrow from Kate Sheppard, we can't complain if we don't take the trouble to have our say.
