The accused is Ripon Singh, a police constable hailing from Yakubpur village of Thakurgaon's Sadar upazila. Through the complaint filed to Dinajpur superintendent of police on Thursday, the girl also accused Ripon of asking a dowry of Tk15 lakh for marriage. The accused constable made contact with the girl through phone five years ago, reads the complaint. When the girl talked of marriage, Ripon demanded Tk15 lakh as dowry which her family was unable to pay, the complaint also read. Despite repeated attempts, Constable Ripon Singh's phone could not be reached for a comment.
