Shahjahanpur(UP), Jul 25 (PTI) A man was booked for allegedly chopping his wifes nose due to non-payment of dowry in Lakhnaur village of Hardoi district, police said today. A case was registered against five persons including the husband. Ranjit chopped off his wifes nose in a fit of rage when his in-laws failed to deliver a motorcycle and a TV in dowry. "Ranjit who was married to the victim, for almost three years, had been demanding a television and motorcycle from the womans family. "The woman then came back to her native place, after which police registered a case against five persons including her husband," he said, adding that an investigation is on.
