Three more people have died of dengue in the past 24 hours, taking the toll from the Aedes mosquito-borne disease to 250. Hospitals in Bangladesh have admitted 1,039 new dengue patients in a day, raising the tally of infections since Jan 1 to 50,919. The Directorate General of Health Services, or DGHS, said as many as 403 were hospitalised in Dhaka among the new dengue patients until Monday morning. The DGHS has been keeping records of dengue hospitalisations and deaths since 2000. Since then, a record 321,179 dengue hospitalisations have been logged in 2023.
