Union Finance Minister Arun Jaitley called Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu over phone this afternoon and asked him to head the five-member committee, sources in the Chief Minister's Office here said. It may be recalled that Chandrababu was the only top political leader to have constantly sought a ban on Rs 500 and Rs 1,000 currency notes. Though he welcomed the Centre's November 8 decision of scrapping Rs 500 and Rs 1000 notes, Chandrababu took exception to the introduction of Rs 2,000 note.
