The White House, meanwhile, is urging Republicans to call Joe Biden’s son Hunter. The House of Representatives is expected to impeach the president with a simple majority tomorrow. A Senate trial to decide whether he should be removed is due in the new year. Chuck Schumer, the leading Democrat in the Senate, is requesting four White House witnesses including John Bolton, who resigned as national security in September, and Mick Mulvaney, Mr Trump’s chief of staff.
