This week, New Jersey senator and presidential contender Cory Booker became the first Democrat in the race to propose a relatively detailed long-term care plan. So far, the only other candidate who has addressed long-term care is Senator Bernie Sanders (I-VT). These have great potential to coordinate medical treatment with long-term care and to control costs. His design may discourage people from saving for their own long-term care needs in old age.
