WASHINGTON—The Democratic National Committee selected 20 candidates to participate in this month’s first presidential debates, leaving out three long-shot hopefuls in the first major televised event of the primaries. The DNC said three candidates failed to qualify for the June 26-27 debates in Miami: Montana Gov. Steve Bullock, Rep. Seth Moulton of Massachusetts and Miramar, Fla., Mayor Wayne Messam.
