Bruce, 69, was diagnosed with aphasia, a cognitive disorder, in March 2022. Less than a year later, he was diagnosed with frontotemporal dementia, a degenerative brain disease that currently has no cure. News of Bruce’s aphasia diagnosis coincided with his family’s 2022 announcement that he would retire from acting.
