Demand subdued in mainly crossbred wool offering

Prices continued to be erratic at yesterday’s South Island wool sale. In a predominantly crossbred offering, demand for crossbred hogget fleece, oddments and short wools were very subdued as large stocks, mainly in Asia, had yet to be pro-cessed from the trade, PGG Wrightson Wool said. Roger Fuller, of CP Wool, said mid-micron prices continued their slide in line with Australian levels, while merino prices were solid on a small offering. China’s absence in the market for finer crossbred wool was a concern, especially with lamb shearing about to start. A range of prices.
