Both bookings and rental income from baches are on the rise as New Zealanders have embraced the call to "back their backyard" and are exploring Aotearoa in record numbers. With international travel off the cards, the recent school holiday periods saw a surge in bookings for holiday homes. In the September school holidays, bookings were up 27 per cent year on year and rental income up 44 per cent. So many of us have fond memories of spending summers at the family bach or heading there for long weekends. If you already own a bach, consider spending some time sprucing it up and kitting it out with new furnishings.
