Late last year, as free meals started popping up in economy on random cross country routes, news leaked that Delta Air Lines was considering the return of free meals on some routes. Announced in a release from the airline this morning, Delta is slowly bringing meals in economy back to twelve transcontinental routes. According to the blog Points, Miles and Martinis, the airline's flight attendants were notified earlier this month that meals will be added for economy passengers on select transcontinental routes. Meals roll out to Delta flights between New York JFK to San Francisco (SFO) and Los Angeles (LAX) starting on March 1st. On April 24th, meal service will expand to a variety of other transcontinental routes from airports such as Boston, Seattle, Portland and Orlando.
