According to the latest media statement from Atlanta's Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport, "the airport sustained a power outage shortly after 1 pm today." The FAA has implemented a ground stop for all flights into Atlanta, which means any flights scheduled to land in Atlanta are being held on the ground. Delta, the largest air carrier based in Atlanta, has announced on Twitter that it is implementing a travel waiver program for all flights into, out of or through Atlanta. Details on the travel waiver are here. According to its website, the airport handles 2500 flights per day, with an average of 275,000 passengers per day.
