The last Delta Boeing 777 flight takes off Saturday from JFK, bound for LAX. Delta Air LinesFirst flown in 1994, the Boeing 777 was considered a revolutionary aircraft, with later models able to fly more than 9,000 miles with just two engines. Delta Flight 8777 departed JFK on time at 1 pm EDT Saturday and arrived at LAX at 3:50 pm PDT, ten minutes ahead of schedule. Delta flew its first 777 from Atlanta to London on May 1, 1999, just over 21 years ago. But Delta was never as committed to the 777 as American and United, which each had more than 60 aircraft.
