DHAKA, Dec 6, 2023 (BSS) - Indian High Commissioner to Bangladesh Pranay Verma today said New Delhi will always stand beside the people of Bangladesh for their stable and prosperous future. "India stood beside people of Bangladesh during the Liberation War in 1971 and India will stand beside people of Bangladesh on the road to greater prosperity and success," he said. The envoy was addressing while the Indian High Commission in Dhaka celebrated the 52nd anniversary of Maitri Diwas here today. To mark the occasion, a reception and musical evening was hosted by the Indian High Commission here this evening. Addressing the gathering, Indian High Commissioner Pranay Verma highlighted the significance of the day as an opportunity to reflect on the achievements of deep rooted India-Bangladesh friendship.
