Delhi pollution: Does odd-even target wrong enemy by keeping 13 lakh cars off road?


He had made similar declaration in 2015 also when he first introduced odd-even in Delhi in his government's bid to fight air pollution in the city. The vehicle rota system on odd-even formula is set to return to Delhi from next Monday till November 17. The government seems to believe that the cars are the major contributors to vehicular pollution turning air in Delhi noxious. As per rough estimates, about 13 lakh cars will go off the roads every day during the operation of the odd-even scheme. In terms of percentage, vehicular pollution contributes about 20-25 per cent of overall air pollution during winters in Delhi.
