The body of the child was recovered from the canal by the rescue teams on Sunday afternoon. On inquiry, several eyewitness told that they had seen Alwi throwing a child into the canal. Immediately, local divers were arranged and rescue teams from fire department and disaster management team were deployed for the rescue operation. “Despite the night-long operation, the rescue teams could not find the child’s body because it was dark. Alwi confirmed that the body was of his son and confessed that he had thrown him into the canal.
