In his interview to CNN-News 18, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said his job was to “perform, reform, transform and, now, inform”. CPM general secretary Sitaram Yechury and his CPI counterpart S Sudhakar Reddy will sit with them and seek their inputs. Yechury and CPI national secretary D Raja would be part of the delegation. Arora, though, did not comment on the issue as the position was expected to open in February, when incumbent Jawahar Sircar’s tenure ends. Sircar has expressed his desire to leave before February, but not before he finishes certain projects he had committed to.
