Photo: Ramesh Pathania/MintNew Delhi: The disqualified Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) MLAs on Tuesday moved the Delhi high court against their disqualification on the ground of holding “office of profit”. On 20 January, President Ram Nath Kovind had given his assent to Election Commission’s “final order” recommending disqualification of 20 AAP MLAs for holding the post of parliament secretaries, which amounted to holding an office of profit. In the light of the recommendation assuming finality post Presidential assent, six of the disqualified MLAs from AAP withdrew their application before the high court on Monday. The application sought an interim stay on EC recommendation.
